Mark Collins – New Canadian Cabinet Committees: Where’s Defence? Serious about Intelligence?

The word “defence” appears nowhere in the list of Cabinet committees of the new government (list here of the ministers themselves); instead we have this, p. 7 PDF–the new Minster of National Defence is on it):

Cabinet Committee on Canada in the World and Public Security

Is the very word “defence” not warm and fuzzy enough for the new group (there is a “Cabinet Committee on Inclusive Growth, Opportunities and Innovation”, p. 5 PDF) ?  Then we have the new, p. 9 PDF:

Cabinet Committee on Intelligence and Emergency Management

This unfortunately may end up in never never land as it only “Meets as required…”  Since the new prime minister is its chair, how much time will he have for these matters?  And how much interest?  The national defence minister is on it too.
