Mark Collins – Canadian Army Battalion for NATO in Latvia

President Obama gets a win (though probably no major CF budget increase)–two stories:

Canada expected to send troops to Latvia to deter Russia

Canada to send troops to Latvia for new NATO brigade

Will the 220 already doing training in Poland remain? One doubts. And there won’t be much left for any significant contribution to UN peacekeeping:

US, New Government and Canadian Forces: UN Peacekeeping (Colombia, Africa)? NATO in E. Europe? Both?

Remember too the not insignificant number of the CF in the Middle East for ISIS. Our military getting stretched–and under-resourced–again?
